It's dark outside, very dark. People hurry through the cold to get their hands on the last X-mas presents. A digital camera, a memory card, these items will surely be found under the Christmas tree again this year?. We also hear people express their hopes and expectations like: "Will we finally have a white Christmas this year?" and: "When will we have peace on earth for everybody?". Christmas is a time for retrospection, for calling a halt to the hectic life and finding yourself again, for experiencing the miracle of the birth of an innocent child, that was to be a king one day. In the darkest time of the year, there is hope, there is expectation and light. The LetsGoDigital Team wishes you a very merry Christmas!

The STAR
I went through the snowy streets, alone, feeling lonely.
Very young I was, and already very much alone.
My thoughts jumped up and down in order to try and catch my attention.
I tried to ignore them.
It was cold outside and I was shivering despite of my warm clothing.
It was dark, yes, extremely dark.
I sensed a deeper darkness in the sky than usual.
I looked around me, no illuminated lamp-posts, not even a small light peeping through a curtain behind the windows.
I walked on, the darkness crawled upon me.
On and on I went. I didn't know where I was going.
Finally I left the city behind me and reached the fields they used to call: no man's land.
It was here when I felt a dizziness come over me, I had to sit down.
A dry spot without snow, in between the roots of an old pine tree served as a seat for me.
I closed my eyes, everything around me was whirling and spinning.
How much time went by, I don't know.
But when I opened my eyes again, the first thing I saw was a cave I had never seen before, and a shining star above it.
I got up and sensed a lightness and joy inside of me that wasn't there before.
Slowly I walked up to the cave and carefully I entered.
The light was around me and somehow I had to kneel.
Overwhelming light and a child in a crib.
I got up and kissed the new born baby devotedly.
Presents appeared in my hands all of a sudden, and I gave them to its parents.
Then I kneeled again and I closed my eyes for a long long time.
When I dared to look again, I was alone, like any other human being, but inside of me the happiness had settled like a bright and shiny star.
Walking away, I remembered what day it was, 25 December, and I understood everything? |
