KodakToday, Eastman Kodak Company introduced the Kodak EasyShare DX6340 zoom digital camera, which combines advanced photography features and performance with point-and-shoot capabilities, all at a value price of $329. Part of Kodak's award-winning EasyShare products line, the DX6340 comes with a wide-aperture professional-quality 4X Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens that provides striking image and print quality. The 3.1 megapixel (MP) camera features a fully automatic mode, as well as advanced creative controls for the photographer who wants to do more, including aperture and shutter priority modes, as well as sport, night, portrait, landscape, macro and regular program modes.
The camera's new high-speed precision auto-focus system, while providing focus lock capability in almost complete darkness, also offers exceptionally fast click-to-capture times. The DX6340 camera will be available worldwide in May.

The large maximum aperture of the f2.2-13 Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 4X zoom lens is the result of close collaboration with Schneider-Kreuznach, the German producer of high-quality lenses and a leader in lens technology. The DX6340 lens delivers professional-level sharpness and brightness across the image. In addition, the camera's Schneider lens and its new high-speed auto-focus system combine to allow an impressive flash range of almost 20 feet. The high-speed, low-light precision auto-focus system is better than most AF illuminators at longer distances, and eliminates confusing pre-light sensors that give subjects the impression a picture has already been taken before it actually is.

The Kodak EasyShare DX6340 camera is equipped with a large 1.8" high-resolution Indoor/Outdoor LCD display screen for easy viewing in almost any picture-taking situation, and Kodak's Color Science algorithms, which are designed to match the award-winning color balance and skin tones of Kodak film photography. The camera also features a 3.5X advanced digital zoom, which delivers noticeably sharper pictures than regular digital zoom.

In addition to its stylish body, which is the smallest camera body on the market with 4X optical zoom, the DX6340 also contains the features digital-camera users expect from Kodak EasyShare cameras, including a new on-camera labeling feature. This feature works with Kodak EasyShare software to allow users to organize their pictures while they take them. Additional features include the distinctive red-jeweled on-camera Share button, which tags for printing, e-mail or as favorites at the time of review; the unique joystick control with clearly easy-to-read menu options and the ability to capture life in motion with continuous video with audio. The DX6340 camera also lets consumers store up to 32 e-mail addresses on the camera for simple photo sharing.

The DX6340 camera is compatible with the all new EasyShare printer dock 6000 - for the fastest and easiest way to get Kodak quality 4"x 6" prints at home - and new EasyShare camera dock 6000 - for simple picture transfer and quick battery recharging. The DX6340 is part of the Kodak EasyShare system and comes with the powerful, easy-to-use EasyShare software that makes finding, organizing, sharing and printing digital pictures a snap.
