NokiaAt the annual Nokia Mobility Conference in Monaco and the Destination Nokia event held in Bangkok, Thailand, Nokia announced an expressive addition to the company's widening range of camera phones - the Nokia 3230. Featuring a megapixel camera with video recording and editing, the Nokia 3230 provides modern mobile phone users with an innovative and feature-rich tool for creative communication, sharing and self-expression. Based on the Series 60 platform, the Nokia 3230 is a tri-band camera phone for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 900/1800/1900 networks. Shipments are expected to begin during the first quarter of 2005 in Europe and Asia. The unsubsidized retail price excluding taxes is expected to be around EUR350.
Get creative with new Nokia 3230 megapixel cameraIn a contemporary design, the Nokia 3230 offers a large color screen with 65,536 colors and an in-built 1.3 megapixel camera sensor, effective resolution 1.23 megapixel, to capture high-quality images. With mobile video recording and editing, users can create unique and entertaining content and easily share it with others by sending a multimedia message. With the Movie Director application on the phone, the users can turn their video clips into personal movies by adding special effects such as music, text, colors or images. Equally important, consumers can easily print, store, and share images or videos with others via Bluetooth connection or Multimedia Messaging, for example. Pictures can be printed to a compatible printer or a printer kiosk via Bluetooth connection, and by using the Kodak Mobile Service and the application on the phone, pictures can be uploaded to a virtual album on the web and shared online with family and friends or ordered as prints.

"The Nokia 3230 was designed for tech-savvy consumers who want the latest features, including access to mobile services and entertainment," said Kai Öistämö, Senior Vice President, Business Line Management, Mobile Phones, Nokia. "While the Nokia 3230 focuses on fun, we believe consumers will also appreciate the high quality photo and video capture, expandable memory and advanced functionality."

For added personalization, the users of the Nokia 3230 can customize the look of the phone with new user interface themes, wallpapers and colors. The Nokia 3230 also offers new games, including the Agent V reality game that literally puts the player in the middle of the action. Agent V utilizes the camera viewer and the motion sensor in the phone, and by moving the phone, the player can move the objects appearing in the game. Based on the Series 60 Platform and Symbian OS, the Nokia 3230 can be customized with a wide selection of Symbian and Java applications to further enhance creativity.

Weighing 110 grams, the Nokia 3230 camera phone offers up to 4 hours of talktime and up to 230 hours of standby time.
