GretagMacbethFor professional photographers and creative professionals, GretagMacbeth, worldwide technological leader in color measurement and management solutions, once again raises the bar and offers a new true one-button solution for calibrating and profiling all types of computer monitors - Eye-One Display 2 - introduced during the last Photokina in Germany. With the current transition from analog to digital photography, the monitor now becomes the "slide" or "original", making consistent, predictable color a "must have" requirement. Eye-One Display 2 combines ease-of-use with exceptional performance to achieve the best quality profiles required for today’s digital workflow.
GretagMacbeth introduces Eye-One Display 2 Eye-One Display 2 is the first and only truly automated color management solution: for all monitors supporting the DDC/CI standards, there is no longer a need for manual adjustment of brightness, contrast and monitor white point. This process is now automatic and, unlike some competitive monitor calibrators, does not require an extra cable - providing a true "one button push" high quality monitor profiling solution.

Ease-of-use does not come as a compromise to accuracy, versatility or features. Eye-One Display 2 features a new enhanced sensor that provides higher repeatability, faster measurements and higher sensitivity in the dark areas for better control in shadow detail and a more neutral gray scale. Its lightweight, sleek design is the same as the original Eye-One Display and comes with a New Ambient light head that easily snaps onto the device, also acting as a dust protector.

Eye-One Display 2 comes with a new and enhanced version of Eye-One Match software v3, based on ProfileMaker 5 algorithms - a standard for ultimate profile quality - and includes new features such as:

• user defined luminance settings for CRT and LCD monitors for better color agreement on multiple monitors
• a new chromatic adaptation formula for a closer visual match of different monitors (or of different settings on one monitor) with different white points
• a new gray balance optimization functionality (working as an iterative internal process with no user interaction required) that checks and optimizes the result of calibration target values, achieving more neutral and better defined grays
• a new profile summary report showing target color temperature, luminance, and gamma, as well as ambient light readings, and stores all information in the profile, ideal for post profile analysis
• a profile reminder, which can be individually set by the user, checks the age of the profile and reminds the user after one to four weeks to create a new monitor profile to ensure true and reliable color over time.

"GretagMacbeth was the first company to bring simple-to-use color management to the creative professionals; Eye-One Display 2, achieves a similar breakthrough. It enables one button color management, with the highest quality results, at an optimal price/performance level. The feature loaded system and the smooth integration of state-of-the-art technology (DDC/DI) enables GretagMacbeth to, once again, set a new level for seamless color management. This is a precursor of the design path you will see embossed in products to come", says Iris Mangelschots, VP and GM of Digital Imaging at GretagMacbeth.

As a promotional offer, Eye-One Display 2 includes a $200 / ?200 upgrade voucher that can be used towards the purchase of any GretagMacbeth Eye-One Pro solution. Visit www.i1color.com for program details.
