LexarKodak Flash Memory : Lexar announced the upcoming expansion of its lineup of Kodak-branded flash memory products. This is a move that will allow the company to reach a variety of new market segments and consumer users with the Kodak brand. Soon-to-be-introduced Kodak products will include new mobile microSD & microSDHC memory cards, the leading form factor for use with mobile devices, as well as new Kodak USB Flash drives and higher-capacity SD cards. These products represent some of the first fruits of a recently announced 5 year extension to the existing, long-standing agreement between Lexar and Kodak, which now allows for expanded distribution and a broader portfolio of Kodak-branded flash memory product lines created by Lexar.

Mark Adams, Vice President of Lexar Media added, “Over the past several years, Kodak’s embrace of flash technology has been one of the key factors in helping speed consumer acceptance of digital photography, and Lexar Media has been proud to be the technology developer behind Kodak-branded flash memory products. Now, with a closer alliance between our two companies, we’re in a better position than ever to combine Kodak’s brand strength and product breadth with Lexar’s technology and manufacturing expertise to create a new class of affordable, high-quality Kodak memory products that address today’s growing technology markets. These new product introductions are just the beginning.”

Kodak microSD and microSDHC Mobile Memory Cards
New Kodak microSD Mobile Memory Cards will be available in 1GB and 2GB capacities, and include free adapters for use in both miniSD and SD products, while the new high-capacity Kodak microSDHC Mobile Memory Card will be available in a 4GB capacity, and includes a free adapter for use with SDHC devices. According to Gartner Research, microSD cards are forecasted to grow more than any other major form factor, and the new Kodak microSD and microSDHC Mobile Memory Cards are designed to address the increasing storage needs of today’s feature-rich mobile devices. Kodak mobile memory cards allow users to maximize the capabilities of their mobile device, run more applications, and store more media. The cards increase the storage capacity of cell phones, PDAs, or other mobile devices, allowing users to reliably store more photos at a higher resolution on a camera phone, and easily download music, video, games, ringtones, and more.

Kodak 8GB SDHC and SDHC High Performance Cards
In addition to the new Kodak microSD and microSDHC Mobile Memory Cards, new 8GB versions of both the Kodak Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) Memory Card and the Kodak SDHC High Performance Memory Card will be available later this month. With the introduction of new 8GB Kodak SDHC and SDHC High Performance Memory Cards, digital camera users will enjoy a major upgrade in memory capacity and utility options. Both cards are designed for use with SDHC-enabled devices, including digital cameras, MP3 players, and more.

Kodak USB Flash Drive
Lexar’s new high-performance Kodak USB Flash Drive will soon be available in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB capacities to provide convenient portable storage and compatibility with popular Kodak EasyShare Digital Picture Frames. The drive includes all the features that have made Lexar JumpDrive USB flash drives popular among today’s knowledgeable computer users. Stylish, compact, and reliable, the new Kodak USB Flash Drive lets users easily store, transfer, and carry photos, files, music, and more. In addition, the drive is designed for total compatibility with Kodak EASYSHARE Digital Picture Frames, which allow users to easily view photos stored on the drive, as well as automatically receive pictures from Gallery members right on their frame with the Picture Mail feature. Users can then transfer the new images to their computers easily and quickly.
