OlympusHigh-quality results and trouble-free handling come at an affordable price with the Olympus C-470 ZOOM. This four million pixel model incorporates a host of easy-to-use features in an attractive, compact body. Its 3x optical zoom lens system delivers brilliant, sharp images and eight scene programmes aid shooting to ensure that anyone can take great photos. Providing more scope for fun use, video sequences with sound can be captured. And for detail shots from as little as 9cm away, the Super Macro mode will come in handy. Choosing between the various functions is a breeze and the ergonomic positioning of camera controls underlines the smart design as much as it facilitates ease of use.
The Olympus C-470 ZOOM camera unveiledA clear emphasis is placed on easy handling in this camera as well as adhering to the strict, technical quality standards Olympus is renowned for. For most users and conditions, the automatic shooting mode will suffice. However, the Olympus C-470 ZOOM additionally includes eight programme modes for more tricky situations such as portrait, indoor and beach & snow scenes. Users may also switch to movie mode to capture video sequences. Here, recording is only limited by the amount of available memory, so prospective directors can keep the camera "rolling" until the take is complete. Results can then be reviewed and displayed to friends directly on the built-in 1.8 inch sunshine LCD monitor. With its ergonomic interface, these and other features are quickly and easily accessed for no-fuss operation.

Boasting a resolution of four million pixels and incorporating the TruePic TURBO image processor for better picture quality and reduced processing time, this camera is geared to capture motifs in the finest of detail. A precision 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 35–105mm on a 35mm camera) with three aspherical elements brings subjects nearer. For even greater close-ups, users may invoke the seamless 4x digital zoom to provide total magnification power of up to 12x. On the other end of the scale, distances of just 9cm away are easily dealt with in Super Macro mode.

With all these easy-to-use options it will be a challenge to put the camera down. So, for extended shooting enjoyment, the Olympus C-470 ZOOM comes with a new, long-lasting lithium-ion battery allowing considerably more photos to be taken before having to stop for a recharge. And when it’s time to print the images, thanks to support of the PictBridge standard, direct printing on compatible printers, such as the Olympus P-10, is a cinch.

High quality results, various functions and effortless operation - the Olympus C-470 ZOOM wins on all counts. It is planned for release in October 2004 and will be shipped with the new Olympus Master 1.0 software and a 16MB xD-Picture Card.
