SonySony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo flash memory card : Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division announced the launch of its Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG product line-up earlier this year and started the first shipments at the beginning of August. The Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG is an extended format of the Sony Memory Stick Pro format, offering high performances to meet the stringent demands of end users using digital entertainment equipments. Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG media come in Duo size and will be available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities. Offering 30MB/s Read/Write speed (240Mbps), it allows large amount of data to be quickly transferred, as well as the real-time recording of high-resolution video and still images.

The Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo is ideal for Digital SLR, high-end digital camera, or digital video camera users who need to handle large capacity data. The Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo media is fully backward compatible with Memory Stick Pro host devices, and will also allow the user to achieve Read/Write speeds of 13MB/s (104Mbps) with conventional Memory Stick Pro compatible devices.


Sony MS Pro-HG - ExpressCard adaptor
Along with the Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo range launch, the Memory Stick accessory line-up will be extended with the launch of the Sony Memory Stick Duo ExpressCard adaptor MSAC-EX1 which maximises speed performance of the Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG Duo media and is compatible with any notebook which includes an ExpressCard slot.

The Sony Memory Stick Pro-HG media, when used with the Sony MSAC-EX1 adaptor and a PC equipped with an ExpressCard slot, realizes high-speed data transfer of 30MB/s (240Mbps) under certain measurement conditions. This allows one hour video taken by a Sony Memory Stick HD Handycam in SP mode to be transferred to PC in approximately two minutes. Sony continues to provide Memory Stick media for high-speed data transfer of large-capacity video or other contents, and proposes users more comfortable AV mobile life.
