CasioWhen the trendsetters get back from their holidays, it's party time again in the city. New locations are opened, good contacts made and the ground is prepared for hot flirts. The atmosphere is charged! How good that the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 and the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z55 conjure up perfect party photos with a few simple movements. Both have over 5.0 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom, concentrated power for even better resolution. Should I or shouldn't I? The decision of whether it's worth shooting a picture is even more simple now. The EXILIM EX-Z55 has come up with an absolute highlight. Its extra-large TFT colour display measures an entire 2.5-inch. That way the photographer can recognise his future dream shots and movies in even more detail.
Casio introduces EXILIM EX-Z50 and EX-Z55 camerasThe FIL technology enables the viewfinder to be integrated into the TFT colour display. As a result, the EXILIM EX-Z55 stays just as small and flat as the EXILIM EX-Z50, although the new display takes up more space. But not only the terrific look is thrilling, but also the design of the new EXILIM Zoom Generation. Thanks to their SUPER LIFE-battery, the silver-coloured multi-talents in their well-designed metal body are extremely powerful. In spite of more megapixels, the EX-Z50 and EX-Z55 take up to approx. 390 respective approx. 400 pictures after only one charge , i.e. up to approx. 260 photos more compared to the predecessor model EX-Z4. Further highlights of the lifestyle camera are the new Auto Macro function, which switches independently from auto focus into macro mode and back if required, and the Flash Assist function, which can automatically lighten dark photographs if necessary. In the CASIO typical BESTSHOT function, the user chooses the best scenario for his motif from all different kinds of prerecorded scenes. For example, the innovative Business Shot programme was newly designed especially for presentations and meetings. If a business man is sitting at the side during a lecture, he can often only take distorted photographs of a chart projection from the side. The Business Shot function converts the trapezium-shaped view into a front view so that all details of the presentation charts are clearly recognizable.

Spontaneous snapshots are no problem with the Direct On function: It makes both the EXILIM EX-Z50 as well as the EXILIM EX-Z55 ready for action in approx. 1.6 seconds3. With only approx. 0.01 seconds shutter release time lag4, you can shoot the coolest outfits in the city's most popular "in" club. And when the party mood reaches boiling point, the movie function is just what you need: you can record a film with sound with no time limit5 with it. The symbols of the diverse functions and settings are explained clearly with the aid of the new Icon Help function. It shows the user in which mode he is taking photos at that moment and makes using the camera simple like never before. The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 and EX-Z55 are charged through a USB docking station, which also makes the connection to the PC and transfers the picture data. In addition to the SUPER LIFE-battery and the docking station, USB cables, extensive software on CD-ROM and carrying straps are also provided. The mobile charger BC-30L as well as diverse camera bags are optionally available.

The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z50 is available from retailers for ? 399.00, the EXILIM Zoom EX-Z55 for ? 449.00 from the beginning of October 2004 (both recommended retail prices).
