The rumours were already floating around the Internet, but this time it's official and more specifications are available. The new Praktica Luxmedia 4008 reminds of a SLR-type digital camera. The design is different from that of an entry-level camera. The robust body protects the compact technology, which covers the requirements of ambitious photographer. It is also the first Praktica camera with the new name Luxmedia. Praktica really believes in the strong concept of the camera; an perfect price-performance-ratio, which is of course not unusual to Praktica. The high quality bright lens has a 8x optical zoom that delivers perfect pictures in combination of a 4.2 Megapixel CCD. On the back we find a 1.6-inch colour TFT-display.

The extensive equipment completed numerous additional options like the video-TV output or the microphone-function.
