Imaging-ResourceOur friends at Imaging Resource published one of their extensive reviews. This time the Sony Cyber-shot P100 got the honour to be reviewed. During the PMA show in Las Vegas Sony showed the media and visitors their new line-up of Cyber-shot digital cameras. This new camera is a follow-up of the DSC-P8 and P10 cameras. The Sony DSC-P100 features a full 5.0 Megapixel CCD and offers a 3x optical zoom (38-114mm on a 35mm camera). Despite its compact design the camera features an optical viewfinder and 1.8-inch LCD display. New is Sony's Real Imaging Processor to speedup every process in the camera and new to the P-series is a Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar lens resulting better image sharpness and contrast.
Imaging Resource: review of Sony Cyber-shot P100According the Imaging Resource: "Overall, the P100 produced good color, with only slight color casts with each white balance setting. Outdoors, it did particularly well, with natural-looking skin tones, and a flawless handling of the always-difficult blue flowers in the Outdoor Portrait test.", "The P100's optical viewfinder is a little tight, showing about 84 percent frame accuracy at both wide angle and telephoto. The LCD monitor actually proved to be just slightly loose, showing more than the final frame. Still, the LCD's frame accuracy was very close to 100 percent." and "Thanks to Sony's InfoLithium battery technology, the P100 shows really excellent battery life compared to other compact digicams?"

Preparing yourself for the summer, want to relax and don't bring the bulky camera from home? Hop on over to Imaging Resource's review of the P100, it could be a digital camera that will join you on holiday!
