PQIPQI Corporation, a manufacturer of digital media solutions, today announced the unveiling of its PQI Intelligent Frame, a digital picture frame suitable for viewing multiple photos on a powerful, TFT LCD screen. Ideal for table or desktop use, the Intelligent Frame features a built-in 32MB flash memory plus an onboard card reader that accepts six popular kinds of digital memory cards. Just remove the card from the digital camera, slip it into the Intelligent Frame, and pictures can be viewed immediately, no personal computer needed. "Intelligent Frame is so unique, yet so practical, you'll find it to be one of your favourite photo accessories," said Nick Adams, Retail Sales Manager at PQI Corporation.
PQI introduces PQI Intelligent Frame"Intelligent Frame removes one of the last reasons for ever needing paper prints. No PC to boot up and no reader to hook up, either. Wherever you use it, Intelligent Frame gives your pictures the attention and focus they deserve. It's a great conversation piece and a great gift."

4 x 6 Image Size
Key to the Intelligent Frame is its 5.6-inch Thin Film Transistor (active matrix) LCD screen, enabling any JPEG photo to be displayed in 4 x 6-inch format. The 320 x 234 screen resolution provides clear rendering in any light, while a front-mounted sensor detects insufficient light, turning off power to conserve energy and protect the LCD screen.

Intelligent Frame can display photos in either slide show or continual, single-photo mode. An adjustable time delay feature and eight transition effects lets users personalize their presentation; thumbnail and image rotation also help individuals organize their photos. The unit even allows display of motion-JPEG video (AVI, MOV formats only), with audio supplied via external speaker connection.

6-in-1 Card Reader
PQI's Intelligent Frame accepts all major memory card formats, enabling users to display their photos the minute they take them. By simply plugging the card into one of the memory slots on the side of the frame, pictures can be displayed and/or copied into the frame’s flash memory. Card formats accepted by the Intelligent Frame include:

• CompactFlash;
• Microdrive;
• SmartMedia Card;
• Secure Digital;
• MultiMediaCard; and
• Memory Stick / Memory Stick PRO

Adding even more flexibility to the Intelligent Frame is its ability to connect to any personal computer via USB port. With USB connection, pictures can be viewed or copied, or multimedia files played, easily and quickly.

Convenience, Style
The Intelligent Frame is controlled by an on/off switch and four easy function buttons. A foldout stand and wall mounts are included that display the unit in either portrait or landscape modes.

Each Intelligent Frame comes with a decorative bezel that can be replaced to match a particular décor. Users can design their own if desired, or use one of the 15 ready-made designs included in the accompanying software CD. Intelligent Frame also ships with AC/DC power adapter, USB cable, spare bezel, and user manual. A one-year warranty is standard.

Pricing, Availability
PQI's Intelligent Frame with 32MB flash memory is currently available at Fry's Electronics and the TV shopping network HSN. The MSRP is $279.00. Larger LCD screen sizes and higher capacities of built-in flash memory are anticipated in the future.
