Sanyo DSC-S4 and Sanyo DSC-S3 digital cameras : Sanyo has announced two digital cameras; Sanyo DSC-S4 and Sanyo DSC-S3. Both cameras are entry-level digital cameras with a 4 and 3.2 Megapixel resolution. The Sanyo DSC-S4 features a 2.8x optical zoom lens, the Sanyo DSC-S3 a 3x optical zoom. Both have 16MB built-in memory. To enlarge this capacity you can insert a SD or MMC card into the memory slot. The optical zoom lens of both the Sanyo DSC-S4 and Sanyo DSC-S3 features 2 aspherical lens elements to reduce the chance of chromatic aberration. The algorithm of the Sanyo DSC-S4 digital camera can reach an interpolated 8 Megapixels (3264x2448 pixels), the effective resolution of the Sanyo DSC-S3 is 3.2 Megapixels (2048x1536) pixels.

The back of the camera shows the 1.8-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 85.000 pixels. The reproduction of the 1.8-inch display gives coverage of almost 100%, so there will be no surprises at the final image. Beside able to capture still-images the new digital Sanyo cameras can also record video clips (without sound). The highest recorded video resolution is 320x240 pixels with a frame rate of 15fps. PictBridge is supported. The nearest focus distance is a respected 2cm with Super Macro mode active and captured with wide lens; with tele lens the distance in Super Macro mode returns to standard 50cm. Normal focus distance is 50cm to infinity. At this moment we only have full information in Japanese, but as soon as we have some more detailed information about these new Sanyo models we will update this news item.
