Jasc softwareJasc Software announced the release of Paint Shop Photo Album 5 - Deluxe Edition, the newest version of digital camera software. Sporting a completely redesigned interface that follows the digital photographer's workflow, Photo Album 5 puts the tools users need to organize, enhance, share and protect photos at their fingertips. By integrating seamlessly with users' lifestyles, Photo Album allows them to share their photos using today's most popular mediums, including e-mail, camera phones, scrapbooks, video CDs and printed pictures. By offering a variety of color, contrast and brightness options as well as tools to enhance photos with text, sound, frames, edges and borders Photo Album allows novices to create beautiful photos.
Photo Album comes with innovative new features such as drag and drop scrapbook pages, flexible print templates and 17 ways to share photos, while giving users the power to quickly and easily view and organize photos by file tree, favorite folders, calendar view or keywords. With the new QuickCD Tool, users can save one or hundreds of photos in just two clicks and take their QuickCD to a local photo developer.

With its innovative PhotoSafe Archiving System, Photo Album ensures users will never lose another photo. According to InfoTrends, there are more than 25 billion photos taken every year, and 78 percent of digital camera owners have no plans for storing these photos. That leaves almost 20 billion photos vulnerable to computer crashes or viruses like the Love Letter virus that destroys photo files. The PhotoSafe Archiving System takes the worry and planning out of keeping digital photos secure by tracking which photos have already been backed-up to CD, which have been added to the photo collection since then, and alerting users when its time to back-up again.

"Paint Shop Photo Album reinforces our commitment to evolving the marketplace and pioneering the standards by which all other photo and imaging companies are judged," said Kris Tufto, president and CEO of Jasc Software. "By listening to consumers, we will continue focusing on providing smarter software that integrates the way people create, enhance, organize and share their photos and images."
