Our friends at Megapixel.net produced an extensive review of the new Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2 camera. This new model is the second in a series of easy-to-use SLR-type digital cameras and a step up from the DiMAGE Z1. The DiMAGE Z2 also boasts the Rapid AF (Auto focus) and is now offering world's first SVGA (800x600 pixels) movie recording option! The adoption of a GT lens and a higher resolution of 4 Megapixels make the DiMAGE Z2 even more interesting than before. Also, the DiMAGE Z2 employs Rapid AF, the only camera in its class , to ensure sharp images with minimum delay. The DiMAGE Z2's powerful optics and high-resolution, 4 Megapixel 1/2.5 interline primary-colour CCD require a powerful AF system.

According to Megapixel.net: "Although the other movie frame sizes of the Z2 offer either 15 or 30 frames per second, including 640 x 480, the 800 x 600 frame size is limited to a 15 frames per second rate. Nevertheless, the image is quite smooth", "Unlike the Auto and Scene modes which let the camera increase the CCD sensitivity up to 200 ISO, thereby potentially increasing noise in the image, the Program mode gives the user control over sensitivity", and "But, if the Z2 offers some benefits over its competitors, it also lacks a couple of features they offer".
Looking for a 4 Megapixel camera, 10x optical zoom and some interesting features like Rapid AF and high resolution video recording? The new Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2 could be the one you are looking for. Continue to read more about the Z2 at Megapixel.net. |
