We already saw this new lens during our visit to the PMA event in Las Vegas, and during this CeBIT 2004 show Pentax shows it again to the audience. With the smc Pentax DA 2.8/14 mm ED (IF) lens, Pentax will expand its line of lenses for digital SLR cameras in the very important wide-angle range with an important focal length. Because it's perfectly matched to the format of the Pentax *istD digital SLR camera, the 14 mm wide-angle lens (approx. 21 mm in the 35 mm format) produces pictures with an outstanding image quality. It is uncompromisingly tailored to the concept of the *istD, the smallest and lightest 6.2 megapixel digital SLR camera on the market, launched very successfully in September.

It's small, light and therefore offers ideal handling for photographers on the move.
Like the smc Pentax-DA 16 mm-45 mm F4 ED AL, the smc Pentax DA 2.8/14 mm ED (IF) is also characterized by the new, fast-action Quick-Shift Focus System. This allows focusing by simply turning the focus ring, even when the camera is set to autofocus. Additional details of the lens, with a length of just under 2.75 inch (70 mm), include the use of ED lenses and internal focusing.
Further details and complete information on the smc Pentax DA 2.8/14 mm ED (IF), will be provided in time for the product introduction. |
