Konica-Minolta DiMAGE X1 Review conclusion

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 digital camera
The DiMAGE X1 digital camera, truly is a shining star, both literally and figuratively speaking! With its stunning looks, the DiMAGE X1 really is a camera that deserves to be seen. Its design is also much more beautiful than the awkwardly angular shapes that distinguish the other models from the X-series. In fact, the design team has done more than just rounding it off, a lot of effort and attention has gone into the camera's entire design. The DiMAGE X1 is a very solid camera and also reasonably scratchproof, ensuring that carrying the camera in the trouser pocket, is not a problem.

Konica Minolta X1 - Excellent basic zoom range
With 8 Megapixels and an excellent basic zoom range, the Konica Minolta X1 is a digital camera that can be used in many different ways. With such a high resolution, photos can be printed out in a huge size. Whether it is a portrait or a landscape, the DiMAGE X1 can handle it all. The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 does this without a single hitch, it is a pleasantly quick working camera. Thanks to its programmable buttons, you can have the functions you want to use right within reach. This is undoubtedly a luxurious addition to an already beautiful design.

Konica Minolta X1 - Large 2.5-inch LCD monitor
A large monitor of 2.5-inch on the back, makes taking photos very enjoyable. This monitor is a good thing indeed, as an optical viewfinder isn't available. Even though there isn't that much to adjust concerning shutter speed en aperture, the DiMAGE X1 provides more than sufficient information on the display. Here you can also see whether or not Anti-Shake has been activated. It is most handy that Konica Minolta also builds the Anti-Shake feature into their compact cameras. This greatly increases the chance of obtaining a sharp photo, and is a definite advantage when compared to its rivals.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 - CxProcess III processor
Despite the many pixels on a small surface, Konica Minolta, partly on behalf of the CxProcess III processor, manages to deliver a very good result indeed. The noise does unfortunately remain slightly higher than it should. In reality however, this doesn't cause much of a disturbance, it is in fact something that occurs often in compact digital cameras with a high amount of effective Megapixels crowded on the small surface of the CCD image sensor. The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 gets good results where purple fringing is concerned, it's almost non-existing. The colours are also good, coming across lively and natural. The printing results thus look excellent, and so the Konica Minolta X1 camera manages to replace the standard 35mm camera effortlessly. A good overall result!

Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 - Recommended camera
In short, we can say that the Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1 digital camera is more than just an attractive camera, it also shows impressive features when dealing with image quality and operation. The DiMAGE X1 is a pleasant camera to carry around with you regularly, so that you can record every moment of daily life. The camera is recommended to those with an eye for detail and a wish to take photos in an easy, comfortable way.

Konica Minolta X1 - SanDisk Ultra II Plus SD memory card
Konica Minolta does supply the camera with a 32MB memory card, but in reality, this will not be of much use. With a resolution of 8 Megapixels, you would need a considerably larger amount of memory. A 256MB card, or even 512MB, is thus highly recommended. Especially when going away for a few days, it is wise to invest a little extra in memory. In the chart below, you will be able to see the amount of images that fit on a 256MB memory card. For the 512MB memory card, the numbers are to be doubled.
