Fujifilm FinePix F700 digital camera - Super CCD technique
Beside the launch of the 4th generation Super CCD technique Fujifilm also announced a new generation of digital cameras. The FinePix F700 is one of these cameras. The camera can quite fulfil the performance that was forecasted by Fujifilm. For many consumers technical expressions like CCD sensors don't mean anything to them. Let alone Super CCD technique where there is also talk about two different sorts of pixels that can be found on these sensors. It is a difficult task for Fujifilm to make this sort of information comprehensible. In my opinion it is easy to say that the FinePix F700 is a digital camera that has a standard resolution of 3.1 Megapixels, but in certain situations the Super CCD technique starts to work and then a maximum resolution of 6.2 can be reached. Look at it as a surplus value that is provided completely automatically by the camera.
Fujifilm F 700 camera - User friendly and comprehensive settings
If we forget about the technique for a second and if we look at the camera as a whole then we can ascertain the fact that Fujifilm has a beautiful user-friendly camera in his hands! Beside that Fujifilm was able to give this camera lot of comprehensive settings with a well-organised menu. If we look at the image quality and the prints that can be made from a FinePix F700 file, the comparison with a traditional 35mm camera is made quickly. The prints are excellent, full of colouring and highly detailed. The brightness of the images is exquisite and the speed with which the camera does its job is a welcoming extra.
Fujifilm F700 digital camera - Compact and Light weight
The compact size of the camera and its light weight make it possible to carry it with you in your trousers pocket or inside pocket. The material looks solid and also the workmanship looks good. Is there nothing to complain about? Well, only a few things: the optical viewfinder with the narrow image coverage, the memory card with only 16MB and finally the recommended sales price of Euro 699. On the other hand the docking station is included within this price. A price which gives you mixed feelings.
Fujifilm FinePix F700 - Great digital camera
The general conclusion? Absolutely recommendable! The FinePix F700 with its built-in 4th generation Super CCD technique has added some surplus value to the present digital camera market. It is good to see that the first generation Super CCD has grown to become this 4th generation technique. In fact Fujifilm has been true to the road they took some years ago. Its terrific result may be seen: the beautiful Fujifilm FinePix F700!

The features of the xD-Picture Card are: ultra compact, feather light and a large storage capacity. The xD-Picture Card with a capacity of 512MB was introduced a short while ago, while successively the 1GB and 2GB xD-Picture cards are planned for the coming period. Eventually the storage capacity will grow to an impressive 8GB!
The Fujifilm FinePix F700 is delivered standard with a 16MB memory card and to be honest this is a bit poor. Certainly a digital camera with great potential like the FinePix F700 needs a capacity of a minimum of 128 to 256MB to be able to function well. But then, the 16MB can be used to test the camera or to use as a reserve card.
Considering the 16MB storage capacity:
Resolution 6M (2832x2128): 10 images - appr. 1.5MB
Resolution 3M (2048x1536): 19 images - appr. 780KB
Resolution 2M (1600x1200): 25 images - appr. 620KB
Resolution 1M (1280x960) : 33 images - appr. 460KB
Resolution 640x480 30fps video - appr. 13 seconds
Resolution 329x240 30fps video - appr. 26 seconds
When a CCD-RAW format is stored the data will be 12.9MB. These data can be read through the included FinePix Viewer software. The RAW file converter converts the raw data into TIFF files.
