The Ricoh Caplio GX has a brilliant formula: wide angle to start with, manual control, good handling, etc. But, it gives poor image quality (huge noise); image saving takes too long = missing opportunities; it is slow to focus; it has a poor LCD display (annoying color); a misleading white balance, etc. etc. Conclusion: appealing formula but awful realization.

The Caplio GX digital camera is brilliant, but beware - I cannot find a plug in that allows me to import raw files using Photoshop Elements 2. The colour space used isn't supported - I can't even view them in standard windows viewer only in DU 10x provided with camera which doesn't allow you to do anything but view so it's a bit useless.
