I love the clarity of the Pentax Optio A10 photos when I print them, but I have problems with taking a shot and missing the actual image I was going for. I've tried different ways to prevent it, but so far I have not been successful. The LCD is large enough for me to take pictures without putting on my glasses, which is a definite plus.

Have had Pentax Optio A10 for about a month. Have taken about 100 pics. Overall, I am quite pleased. It has crashed twice for unknown reasons (V1.0). Had to remove the battery to reboot. Slow to focus (but most PS are). Would be nice if it had aperture priority for flower macros. Flash fires twice about ½ second apart. (NOT red-eye). Subject may move or blink thinking the picture was taken on first flash. LCD is very difficult to see in bright sunlight but is otherwise great for reviewing pictures (in subdued light). Anti shake works well. Zooming is quite jerky but one is usually in WA or Tele mode. Flash over exposes macro work but -1 EV or -2 EV correction solves this issue. Biggest issue for me is slow focus. I use center focus exclusively.

Just back from holiday with my pictures and have to say that I found the Pentax Optio A10 frustrating and not very good at taking any type of moving image shots. So much for the animal programme! if they move the head slightly the camera misses the shot. I have tried many times and each time failed to capture my chosen image. Everything else is fabulous- agree with Bert the large screen is useless to view in bright daylight.

Nice camera. Needed a compact camera for my business and the Pentax Optio A10 fits better than OJ's glove. This camera has no viewfinder so the only way to take a picture is to use the LCD. This is a distinct downside if you plan to take pictures outside. If you are shooting in the sun, you cannot see the image in the LCD, making it impossible to frame any kind of shot. Thus, you need to put the camera on wide angle, point in the general direction and hope for the best. A viewfinder would also help conserve battery life. Big flaw and oversight. Otherwise a great camera, but only for inside shooting.
