Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom Reviews from camera owners

Excellent value for the dollar. Wonderful Features for an all-in-one camera
(includes lens hood and IR remote). Image quality is excellent, with user
selectable image size of 640x480 to 3264x2448 pixels. The external buttons of the Olympus C8080 WZ gives you access to all the main features without having to access the Menu system (Menu system can be slightly confusing at times, takes getting used to). Can use EVF or LCD for composing a picture. Only exception was the AF speed was slightly slower (if compared to a dSLR). Lastly, battery life is excellent, even with half my shots using flash. Great prosumer 8.0MP camera! Still available at some retailers at an excellent price.

I bought my Olympus C-8080 Wide Zoom about 18 months ago. I use it for my work, prior to installing our equipment in large buildings. The wide angle captures most scenes, and it is excellent in low light. I have taken many thousands of pictures in all types of light and the only bad ones are on my account. The clarity when zooming on details on the computer afterwards is excellent. I am buying another one as a spare.

The Olympus C8080 WZ is an excellent camera. I don't think they will ever make another camera like it again. Resolution is the best of all in that megapixel range. Cons: Sometimes slow to focus in dim light although it gets it right after a try or two.

Pro: The Olympus C8080 WZ is one of the best 8 megapixel cameras! Have mine about a year. Very good in the dark. Also a good natural picture which you can boost a little. Minus: If you put on a filter like a UV you can't use the sun hood anymore. Slow picture browser, but I can live with that.
