The D2x is a user friendly, super high quality unit. Very good intuitive ergonomics with a smooth quality feel. Very accurate Auto white balance, and clean high ISO files, very useable to ISO 1600. Recommended for metered use with many of the older manual focus indexed lenses, along with the 28 & 35 mm PC lenses.

This is a fabulous camera. I shoot football games and use the high speed crop and it is great and use the same camera to do portraits. Totally versital. If you have the change do yourself a favor and get this camera. Save yourself some headache from getting something that can't even come close to this quality.

I think the Nikon D2X is the perfect camera even though it is not a full frame. I must say that the only moment I realize it's not a full frame is whem I am shooting interior, other than that I don't realize it.

I'm using the Nikon D2X now for a year and I'm very happy with it, but I'm still waiting for a full frame (D3 or D3X ?) with more pixels say around 18 till 22 MP then it is possible to skip medium format digital camera's. Till now, I'm still working with the Hasselbald with rental Phase-one 22 MP back.

The Nikon D2X is a perfect photo machine, to say it simply. Just when you have it in your hands, the quality feeling makes me feel also special, all buttons, controls, are ergonomically perfect. The only thing that's not so good about the Nikon D2X is how easy it is to loose the small plastic caps for the cable connections in the camera body! Also a bit uncomfortable is to walk in the beach (or in a park, etc.), just to make pictures of my kids, and how everybody look at the camera, even the most un-expert person thinks that this is something "special", maybe because of the big size of the camera, I don't know. It paid back 100% of the bucks I spent on it. I have 2 lenses to use with it (17-55 F 2.8 AF-S DX, and 70-200 VR F 2.8), and I find the wide angle lens better than the tele.

I am greatly impressed with the Nikon D2x. With this SLR camera, Nikon has proved that there isn't a need for a digital with 35mm frame size. The 35mm format is no holy grail, and lenses designed for 35mm do not work ideally with a digital sensor of 35mm dimensions. The sensors in the Nikons and some Canons use the sweet spot of the lens, not allowing distortion from the edges of wide angle lenses to affect the image. And with the new wide angle lenses users have all the view they need. Plus they get the benefits of longer lenses, with no need for a teleconverter, which also distorts the image. I think that Nikon is using the ideal sensor size. And the Nikon D2x outperforms 35mm by far. It's a super camera, one I enjoy using every day. Buy one!
