The Nikon Coolpix 5400 is not a simple camera to use. I don't like the fact that you have to change the settings everytime you go outside or inside etc. I wish there was just one auto mode. I definately hate the fact that you have to charge the camera quite often even if the camera has not been in use. I boght the camera last year at costco when it was $499.00. I don't this digital camera at all! When I develop my pictures you can see the pixels and the photos look blury. I dont know what to set it for.

This camera is my 3rd digital and I like it, but it has it's limitations. It is quite well built and the battery lasts a long time - even after the low indicator displays. The images quality is very good - much better than the Canon A75 I also own. It is very simple to use in auto mode (for my wife) and extremely powerful in Manual. My biggest problems are in speed and low light focus. Basically it is useless in low light. The AF hunts for several seconds then gives up. The manual focus is useless also because the display is not large enough to really tell if you are in focus and there is no indication of distance in feet or inches. I love the external flash hot shoe and use it all the time with my Sunpak, but it still won't focus.
