Just purchased this camera 3 days ago. So far, I am more than pleased with my new Fufjilm FinePix Z1 camera. It's a great digital camera for anyone who just wants a point and shoot camera that is extremely easy to use, small enough to fit in your pocket or purse, and looks good.

I am very happy with the Fuji Finepix Z1 camera, I like the quality and precision. This is my 6th Fuji camera. I only have one suggestion. The front plate that slides open is too smooth. It won't work with gloves (at -15C) for instance) or when your fingers are slippery. It could use a "rough" spot to eliminate this problem.

The FinePix Z1 is the most attractive camera out there. The amount of awes and ooo's I get from a number of people(especially females) is amazing. But when buying a camera that is the least important. The image quality is outstanding and even more surprising the video quality is like a regular digital camcorder(no joke)...the 640X480 resolution really blows away people when viewed on a computer... or even a TV. The playback sound is out of this world also. The number one thing I love about this camera is the start up speed that most web sites fail to suggest. For example, I'll have my camera in my pocket and could take a great picture using the auto focus and auto flash mode. With a flick of the index finger, the world can be captured!

This camera is fantastic! Very easy to use, looks cool, and the results are great. The only poor point was that it does not come with a case, and the memory card is far too small. But I am otherwise delighted with it, and would happily recommend it.

If you want a 5 megapixel compact digital in a package as small as possible, the FinePix Z1 fills the brief. The firmware could be more refined - standby is just turn off and there's no true manual mode. But the photos are acceptable - if soft, and it really does fit in your jeans pocket. Movie mode works well. If you don't like another maker's memory stick format the Fujifilm Z1 is the next best option. Very clean and easy UI, but you have to mind your fingers around the lens. The LCD screen is good but not great. The clincher is that it's fast power on and negligible shutter lag.
