I use the Fuji FinePix F11 as a second camera and so far I like it. Why? Because its fast for grabbing pictures, the screen is big & clear, best battery life I've come across, the low light ISO 1600 facility is excellent (if you can live with some noise.) The manual settings make it flexible & a good choice for a 2nd camera. The downside is I still prefer to have a viewfinder as well as the screen, today's compacts seem to have abandoned this, but I'm just old fashioned I guess. Also, and it may be just my camera, using full Auto for point and shoot indoors with the ISO setting on Auto it always chooses flash at ISO 800 resulting in poor noisy pictures. Weird. I can get round it but there are times I want to pass the F11 to someone and say 'just fire away!'

I bought the Fuji F11 a fews weeks ago in exchange for the Fuji F10. A big advantage in comparison to the FinePix F10 is the manual Mode. Especially in very low light situations you could select for example 1/10 Aperture instead of the automatically selected 1/4 of the F10 which is most time to high to get
sharp unshaken pictures. Unfortunately the FinePix F11 still doesn't allow you
to zoom far enough (on the LCD) to check if it is sharp enough or not – which is possible with the Canon IXUS series. But that's not a real big problem.

Fuji is sending out to the market two versions of the F11, one with firmware
1.00 and another with firmware 1.01. The problem is that you don't know
which one you are buying, until you turn on your camera and find out. To
make things worse, Fuji has not yet published F11's firmware 1.01 for owners
to download and update their cameras. The differences between version 1.00
and 1.01 are unknown, except that version 1.01 allows S and A values to
appear in the LCD screen in playback, while with firmware 1.00 you don't
know the shutter speed and aperture of your taken images: that information
is not displayed in playback. Fuji has not disclosed yet what other
differences there are between F11's firmware versions 1.00 and 1.01.
