Casio EXILIM EX-Z850 Camera review | Storage and Energy
The bottom side of the Casio Exilim Z850 holds the compartment in which a memory card can be placed. The up-to-date reader will not be surprised by the fact that Casio too support the small Secure Digital memory card. In addition to the option to use an external memory card, the Casio Z850 camera is equipped with an internal memory of a mere 8.2MB. In practice, this means that when capturing an image in the highest quality, you will be able to store only one single image, and are virtually instantly presented with the alert that the available memory is insufficient. Therefore, it seems somewhat misplaced to equip the Casio Exilim Z850 with this minimal storage capacity. An internal memory should offer at least 32MB.

SanDisk Ultra II Plus 1GB Secure Digital
I would recommend purchasing a 512MB, or better yet, a 1GB Secure Digital card to those who wish to use the camera properly, and want to be able to capture all their holiday moments, as well as to those who expect to make frequent use of, for instance, the internal image editing. A high resolution file of 8 Megapixels (3264 x 2448 pixels) and the lowest compression (Fine) easily takes up 4.8MB, which, in combination with a 512MB memory card, quickly translates to approximately 96 images, or 17 minutes of video. The Secure Digital memory card is available in a variety of speeds and storage capacities. To capture the images in practice, I opted for a SanDisk Ultra II Plus 1GB Secure Digital card, as to prevent any possible hiccup or hitch that could have been caused by a card that is too slow. The Casio Z850 supports Secure Digital memory cards with up to 1GB of storage capacity.

Casio Exilim EX-Z850 - Fast digital camera
The Casio Exilim Z850 deals with the high resolution images swiftly. It takes less than 2 seconds to store a 4.8MB file. Naturally, lower resolutions are processed more rapidly, although the difference in speed of approximately 0.5 seconds is marginal. The Casio camera proves pleasant to work with. The speed with which the images are processed and played back is excellent.

Casio EX Z850 - Exilim processor & Super Life battery
The Casio Exilim EX Z850 is equipped with a so-called Exilim processor. Compared to its predecessor, this new processor is not only smaller (35%), but also faster. This speed can be noticed by the user on virtually all fronts; from the moment the camera is started up, as well as during photographing and when deactivating the camera. Besides guaranteeing a continuous speed, Casio have managed to equip the camera with new technology and a powerful so-called Super Life battery. This technology and the battery enable you to capture a considerable amount of images with the Casio Z850. Prospective users may look forward to an average of 400 images when shooting sequentially, with an activated display and use of the flash with half of the images, an excellent performance! Those who expect to take more photos, and will not have the option to re-charge the battery in between, will have to resort to a second battery. This apart, the standard supplied battery will easily suffice for the average user.
