Kodak EasyShare Z650 Camera review | Conclusion
Kodak EasyShare Z650 digital camera
The Kodak EasyShare Z650 is an attractive, easy to use digital camera with a lot of features. If you are looking for a good automatic camera, the Kodak Z650 is a good choice. It will work without problems and you will be satisfied with the results. If you want a compact camera, but with more possibilities, this camera has enough pre-programmed settings to allow you to quickly select themes. Its advantages are the perfect pre-programming and its user friendliness.

Kodak EasyShare Z650 - Features
The Kodak Z650 has more in store for more advanced users, who will quickly go in search of aperture priority and shutter priority. However, you will need more to satisfy this type of user. One of the stumbling blocks is the Kodak Z650 camera’s relatively slow image processing. The scanty buffer has a difficult time working which means you have to wait for it to clear from several seconds up to a half minute (after a maximum series of high resolution shots in the so-called Burst). In fact the Kodak EasyShare Z650’s slow start up time is the first warning sign; at a full 4 seconds this distinguishes it from the competition, but not in the good sense of the word. In short, the Kodak Z650 is no camera for action photographers. Furthermore, it doesn’t have image stabilisation. Not so long ago, this was still a luxury extra in a compact digital camera, but nowadays it is an essential feature of a super zoom digital camera. The absence of such a function means that you will have to learn to live with movement blur.

Kodak EasyShare Z650 - Pre-programmed scene
Beginners wanting to put their personal stamp on the final result can do this with the Kodak Z650. Kodak places the emphasis on making changes by means of pre-programmed scenes that can be made for exposure, shutter speed, ISO value and that are, in fact, endless. Although the camera offers all sorts of settings, the LCD display cannot be adjusted in light/dark, sharp/less sharp or the energy saving setting. Kodak gives users of the Kodak EasyShare Z650 a lot of freedom in regard to the energy supply. You can choose from diverse energy sources and options and are not tied down to just one (expensive) type of battery.

Kodak EasyShare Z650 - Disadvantages
When testing the Kodak EasyShare Z650 we discovered a few disadvantages that we think could have been prevented. There were high expectations of a new generation EasyShare Z-camera, but the final results in the form of the Kodak Z650 are slightly disappointing. Kodak hasn’t really taken the trouble to make some really important improvements. Just raising the resolution to 6 Megapixels and enlarging the LCD screen is not enough to hack it on today’s market. The competition has not been standing still, and if we look around at the competition we can see models in the same price range with much broader specifications and more innovations. The Kodak EasyShare Z650 works well, has good image quality and gives entry level photographers enough material to enable them to explore creative digital photography and hone their skills. More demanding users will be inclined to look further and choose one of the competing models of digital cameras.

Kodak EasyShare Z650 review - Good final results
We can be concise about the final results: they are pretty good. The image quality is good and the automatic white balance generally works well. The colours look realistic and powerful and the portrait setting also gives good results with very natural skin tones. Moreover, the camera has an all round character for the snap shot photographer with its large optical range. The Schneider Kreuznach Variogon zoom lens does what you would expect of a lens from such a renowned brand.
