Kodak EasyShare V570 Digital camera review | Introduction
Kodak EasyShare V570 digital camera review : From the very moment the first rumours of a new digital camera from Kodak reached our ears, accompanied by the first low quality product shots that had been taken of this camera, our interest was sparked immediately. A digital camera with a dual-lens system? This creative idea can be called interesting at the very least, and earned Kodak a fair share of worldwide attention during this period.

Kodak EasyShare V570 - 5 Megapixels
The Kodak EasyShare V570 is a compact-sized digital camera offering a resolution of 5 Megapixels. With its smooth design and user-friendly interface, the small camera aims at a broad group of consumers. Kodak certainly deserve credit for the way they have set up the commendable EasyShare concept. The Kodak V570 is a digital camera that values ease and convenience to the highest degree, which results in a user-friendly interface combined with a modern design.

Kodak V570 dual-lens digital camera
The official introduction of the Kodak EasyShare V570 came during the recent CES 2006 show in Las Vegas. It also turned out to be the introduction of the world's first dual-lens digital camera. In addition to the 3x optical zoom lens, which has a focal range of 39 - 117mm (equivalent of a 35mm camera), Kodak have managed to integrate an extra wide-angle lens (23mm). And presto: the concept of a so-called dual-lens digital camera is born. As a result, Kodak cover an interesting range of 23 - 117mm zoom, packaged in an ultra-compact camera. The available range means the Kodak V570 is, at least in theory, an all-round digital camera suitable for landscape images, architectonic images, all the way up to family portraits.

Kodak EasyShare V570 - Image sensor
At this time, the concept that Kodak have used for the camera is unique, and whether it will inspire others still remains to be seen. The idea, however, is both simple and innovative; "if the desired results can't be achieved with one lens, why not apply a second lens system?" The lens systems have been integrated entirely inside the camera, and do not extend when used. In addition to this unique feature, each lens system also has its own image sensor with an effective image resolution of 5 Megapixels. This enables the user to choose either the optical zoom or just the ultra-wide angle lens, with a resolution of five Megapixels.

Kodak V570 - 23mm lens for panorama images
The fact that the Kodak V570 is equipped with a 23mm lens leaves plenty of opportunities for panorama images. The difference between Kodak's 23mm and, for instance, the 28mm of several other compact digital cameras is in fact so significant that this alone already makes the Kodak EasyShare V570 a considerably interesting and appealing camera for those keen on capturing landscape images. The camera is thus also equipped with a so-called panorama stitching function, which enables you to "stitch" three images together automatically.

Kodak EasyShare V570 review
The Kodak V570 camera is delivered including a handy docking station. By placing the camera onto the station, the user is able to transfer the images directly to a computer, or re-charge the battery. Overall, the Kodak V570 offers us enough enticing information to submit it to some extensive practice tests. The results can be read in the following Kodak EasyShare V570 digital camera review.
