Canon Powershot A410 | Digital Camera Review | Conclusion
Canon PowerShot A410 - Entry-level digital camera
The Canon PowerShot A410 fully meets the requirements for an entry-level digital camera. Simplicity, great quality and an operating process that consists of both ease and comfort can all be found in the Canon A410. With a resolution of 3.2 Megapixels, 3.2x optical zoom and a wide array of preset scenes with even a few manual settings, Canon delivers a very extensive and complete entry-level model.

Canon PowerShot A410 - Good image quality
The image quality is great and the beginning photographer will succeed in taking a photo realistic print without all too much effort. The 3.2x optical zoom is of good quality, although it encounters a small distortion in the wide angle mode and suffers from a little chromatic aberration. However, upon zooming in these tiny hitches will disappear without a trace. The material used for the housing consists of durable plastic and has been neatly finished.

Canon A410 - Small LCD display and optical viewfinder
There are a few things that should however be commented on. The small size of the LCD display, for instance, could very well present a problem. In my personal opinion, it is too small and should have at least had a size of 1.8 inch. Furthermore, the optical viewfinder could have also done with a slightly larger size. As the camera has been presented as the successor of the PowerShot A400, it would have made sense to at least improve on the size of the display. It has to be admitted the camera is somewhat chunky, which may prove to be unhandy if you prefer to carry your camera with you at all times.

Canon PowerShot A410 - DIGIC II processor
The PowerShot A410 truly excels as far as image quality, exposure and the speed of image processing is concerned. A feature which without counts as considerable added value is the integration of the powerful DIGIC II processor. This technique which is also used in Canon's professional digital reflex cameras contributes essentially to the remarkably fast and economical features of the Canon PowerShot A410 digital camera.

Canon A410 - Outstanding camera for the novice photographer
The Canon A410 will prove to be an outstanding camera for any novice that is looking for a digital camera. For this type of photographer, the possibilities and options offered make it very well suited to replace a 35mm camera. The quality lives up to all expectations; comfort and ease are close at hand. Still, it has to be said that there are boundaries and limitations to how far you can take this camera, it is for instance quite clear that unleashing one's creativity will mostly remain restricted to the shooting modes. If this, however, is a fact you can overlook, the Canon PowerShot A410 will be an excellent choice indeed. The camera is therefore truly recommended to any beginning photographer!
