|Nikon Coolpix P1 Wireless - Wi-Fi connection
The convincing sales argument of the Nikon Coolpix P1 is of course the possibility of transferring your photos through Wi-Fi. The Nikon P1 is the first camera available with this option together with the Nikon Coolpix P2. But the competing brands have not sat still and will soon introduce some Wi-Fi models. Working with Wi-Fi is great fun and the Nikon Coolpix P1 makes it very easy too, even though at this moment the possibilities are still rather limited. If you think you can just mail a photo directly from the camera, you will be disappointed. Moreover, you can't just log in to any network. You will still have to make the physical connection by means of a cable for creating a profile in order to have the camera function with the device. The Wi-Fi option's only purpose is to transfer images.
Nikon P1 Wireless - Optional adapter
The nice thing about the Wi-Fi function is the fact that you can photograph in one room or outside and have a photo come out of the printer in another room. Providing this printer supports Wi-Fi and is connected to the network, which seems to be common nowadays. By the way, Nikon developed a special optional adapter for equipping the printer with so it can be used as a Wi-Fi printer. The great advantage of Wi-Fi over wireless connections like Bluetooth or infrared is the fact that you don't have to be in the same room. As long as you stay within reach of the antenna it suffices. It means that you don't have to go to your computer room to store your photos on the hard drive.
Wireless Coolpix P1 - Log in from a hotspot?
Although Wi-Fi isn't commonly used (yet) and the module of the Nikon Coolpix P1 has its limitations, we can expect a lot from this technique. At this moment it is still in its infancy but more and more people have a wireless network at home and the demand for Wi-Fi will certainly grow. In the future it will definitely be possible to log in directly so you can send a high quality picture from any hotspot to your family at home while you yourself are getting sunburned by the hot Spanish sun. I'd wish for a stronger battery then though, because continuous wireless transfer consumes loads of energy.
Nikon Coolpix P1 digitale camera - Good image quality
What about the digital camera itself, I can hear you ask. Well, nothing to worry about. The Nikon Coolpix P1 is worthy of its famous name concerning image quality. A good lens, a fine sensor and an excellent processor provide an image that lives up to your expectations. Eight Megapixels bring along some disadvantages concerning noise at higher ISO values, but this is something that is quite common on a compact 8 Megapixel camera. No other remarks can be made on this Nikon Coolpix P1 digital camera.
Nikon Coolpix P1 camera - Comprehensible users interface
The Nikon Coolpix P1 however feels somewhat cheap due to the frequent use of plastic; still it doesn't make the camera less solid. The digital camera is pleasant to work with, thanks to the small handgrip. The camera is also equipped with a comprehensible users interface which makes operation fluent and easy. The intelligent in-camera software and the setting options provide creative possibilities for the user.
Nikon Coolpix P1 - Recommendable digital camera
The Nikon Coolpix P1 is the start of another whole new period: the time of transferring pictures through networks. For now it may just be a toy for the so-called 'early adapters' but soon this will be the most common thing to do in the world. Those who buy the Nikon Coolpix P1 now are prepared for the future and are able to make photos of excellent quality in the meantime. This makes the Nikon Coolpix P1 a truly recommendable digital camera.
