Nikon Coolpix S3 Camera review | Conclusion
Coolpix S-series - Gadget design
When having seen the Coolpix S-series before, you might not be that surprised anymore by the design of the camera. But in case you are holding the Nikon S3 for the first time, the design really shows its beauty. It's a real gadget, a design that truly distinguishes itself from the majority of the cameras. Besides the beautiful design, mainly the user friendliness and the well thought-out corporation with the intelligent software stand out on the Nikon Coolpix S3 digital camera. The stylish design has a perfect finishing touch to it, the material feels durable and solid, in short, it's just a perfect creation. Despite the compact size the camera has a fine hand-fit and is easily carried around wherever you go. The light weight and the slim dimensions make you forget that you are actually walking around with a camera in your pocket.

Nikon Coolpix S3 - Simple way of photographing
The large sized monitor on the back of the Nikon S3 lets you forget about the optical viewfinder in every aspect. The reproduction is clear and the menu shows to the fullest. A camera like the S3 would not really benefit from a viewfinder and we are pleased to find out that Nikon seem to have said farewell to the smaller sized monitors like 2-inch and smaller. The menu of the camera is well arranged and navigating is easy. The camera is designed for a most simple way of photographing, so superfluous settings are not found on the camera anymore. Application of the intelligent software adds a huge surplus value and hits the target. Image editing inside the camera, and even fully automatic with just pressing the button, is the ideal method for everybody to make the step to image editing and carrying it out. For those who like to get more out of an image or like to edit in a more creative way, they can still do so through photo editing on the computer. I am convinced that applications like D-Lighting and 'In-camera red-eye correction' are only the beginning of the possibilities that come with intelligent software.

Nikon Coolpix S3 camera for snapshot photography
The consumer that the Nikon Coolpix S3 is aiming for, will not have many comments on the camera. Don't expect to get a versatile digital camera in your house but a camera that lets you make snapshots with emphasis on the most pleasant way of photographing. Don't expect a speed monster, because the Coolpix S3 was simply not designed to be that. And yes, of course some improvements are possible concerning the signal/noise ration at 400 ISO images, a faster focus would also be nice and perhaps a somewhat larger optical range. But in general we may conclude that the Nikon Coolpix S3 is a successful concept. Design in combination with user-friendliness and a fine picture as an end result is a combination that meets the desires and wishes of a large group of consumers.

Nikon S3 user friendly digital camera - Successful concept
With the introduction of the Coolpix S2 Nikon has definitely taken the path of design. And that the design is successful may be clear. It's convincing and out in the street people keep commenting on it in a positive way. The user-friendliness and the ease of shooting make the concept convincing. The Nikon S3 digital camera is perfect for those who like to always carry a design camera with them to capture the world around him or her with a beautiful snapshot. The high resolution of 6 Megapixels in combination with the intelligent software guarantees an excellent print. The Nikon Coolpix S3 certainly is worth taking in your hands and letting yourself be surprised by the, in my opinion, successful concept!
