Sony Cybershot DSC S90 | Digital Camera Review | Introduction
Sony Cybershot S90 digital camera review : Sony decided at the beginning of this year that it was time to introduce a complete new line of digital cameras and thus Sony came out with the new S-series of digital cameras during the PMA (digital Imaging event in the U.S.A.) in February 2005. The Sony Cybershot DSC-S90 is the top model of this line. Equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens, a 3x optical zoom combined with a beautiful size LCD monitor and the unique Stamina technology gives this Sony Cybershot S90 some interesting specifications to play with. The Sony S-series is aiming at the starting photographer, so anyone should be able to simply and easily operate the S-line cameras.

Sony Cyber-shot S90 - Compact and 2.5 inch LCD monitor
The Sony Cybershot S90 is a compactly designed digital camera with a huge size LCD monitor on the back panel of the camera. The 2.5 inch sized monitor is a perfect replacement for the 'old fashioned' optical viewfinder. The Sony S90 aims at the crowd and therefore carries an affordable and attractive price tag. But that doesn't mean we are dealing with a stripped down digital camera, on the contrary. The Sony Cybershot DSC-S90 is equipped with various setting possibilities, such as seven pre-set scene shooting modes, and together with the 4 Megapixels of resolution, a Carl Zeiss lens, 3x optical zoom and a movie function (VGA with 30 fps) the camera contains sufficient features to be able to compete with its competitors.

Sony S90 - Real Image Processor
New techniques such as the application of the Sony Real Image Processor have to ensure that pictures are sharper and with rich detail. These techniques also add to get a faster response of the camera and a faster way of processing the images. The images are stored on an external Memory Stick or if required on the internal memory of 32MB. Besides the possibility of taking still images, Sony of course provided the camera with the possibility of recording a high quality movie in MGEP VX Fine.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S90 - Versatile
Besides auto exposure it is also possible to decide the exposure manually in combination with seven pre-set scenes, it makes the Sony Cybershot S90 an extremely versatile camera. The camera is also equipped with a fast Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connection in order to quickly transfer files onto a printer, notebook or a computer. The Sony S90 supports PictBridge, so you don't need a computer to print your images; in stead you can print them directly from the camera.
