Fujifilm FinePix F10 Camera review | Control
A camera like the Fujifilm FinePix F10 guarantees ease of operation and user-friendliness. The target group is the large group of consumers looking for a simple and organized easy to operate camera and preferably a camera that works fully automatically. The F10 is one of those cameras. On top of the camera we find the on/off button. It has to be pressed just a little bit longer than you'd expect, but after that the camera is ready within two seconds to shoot the first image. Turning the dial to Auto makes photographing a piece of cake. The large monitor offers fine rendition and is an excellent replacement for an optical viewfinder. When put to the Auto mode the flash works completely automatically. The flash settings can be changed through the multi functional control dial. It will be shown on the monitor by means of large yellow coloured symbols. Very useful are the so-called quick buttons on the camera. There is one button that offers the possibility to adjust the brightness of the monitor, with pressing the button just once. Normally access would only be possible through the menu of the camera, which would mean, that the moment you'd have liked to have captured is long gone by the time you get to the setting in the menu.

Fujifilm FinePix F10 camera - Record mode
If you want to view the captured image straight away during taking the image, or at least in the record mode of the camera, you can do so by using the quick button: Play. The camera will show the last captured image on the monitor and it is also possible to render the images captured before the last one. Slightly pressing the release button turns the camera back into record mode. In record mode a grid function can be activated by pressing the button DISP/Back. This function is very handy for instance for taking the horizon actually horizontal, very useful when taking images of buildings, landscapes etc.

Fujifilm FinePix F10 - Optical zoom
The camera is equipped with a standard 3x optical zoom. The focal length, equivalent to a 35mm camera, is 36-108mm. The wide angle of 36mm is extremely suitable to make indoor images or to photograph groups. Zooming in makes portrait pictures possible. The resolution of the camera, 6.3 Megapixels, is more than sufficient to guarantee a photo realistic print. Even large sized posters belong to the possibilities. The Fujifilm FinePix F10 is equipped with already the 5th generation Super CCD HR and combined with the Real Photo Technology it turns out to be a powerful combination. The optical zoom contains 9 steps for zooming in. Precise zooming is not always smooth; various times a small pressure on the zoom button increased the zoom with an extra step.
Fujifilm F10 camera - The blue Fuji 'F' button
Obviously we have to mention the 'F' button. Fujifilm has equipped the last generation digital cameras standard with a button containing the blue 'F'. This button contains a few characteristics of movies, but obviously converted to a digital image. It enables putting emphasis on the features of a slide, setting ISO sensitivity from 80 to 1600 ISO or choosing a resolution of 640x480 (VGA) to a higher resolution of 6 Megapixels. The quick button offers a handy direct way to influence taking a picture even when the camera is set to full automatic mode. Besides the Auto mode, the camera also features some preset scenes, summarised in the SP setting and a manual mode for settings like white balance, exposure compensation, type of exposure etc.

Fujifilm FinePix F10 digital camera - User friendly
The Fujifilm FinePix F10 is easy to operate. The menu of the camera is not one of my preferences, in particular the rather moderate colours of the tab pages. The settings can be set simply and fast, but unfortunately it doesn't work instinctively for me. I had to keep the manual close by. Still, a quick glance, and getting acquainted with the camera is what it takes. The camera lets itself operate directly and fast. The Fujifilm F10 is user-friendly, is easy to get acquainted with and the operation will appeal to many user.
