|Nikon Coolpix 8800 digital camera review : The Nikon Coolpix 8800 camera is a logical step after the break-through forced by the introduction and availability of the first 8 Megapixel digital cameras in 2004. Nikon went from 5 to 8 Megapixels, a giant step if we look at the development which took place prior to this step. During the last Photokina in 2004, Nikon decided it was time to introduce the Coolpix 8800 to replace the top model pro-sumer Coolpix 8700 from that time. The new Nikon 8800 is also an 8 Megapixel digital camera, equipped with a 10x optical zoom containing ED (Extra Low Dispersion) lens elements. Beside that we may also welcome the so-called Vibration Reduction and due to the large amount of settings and functions, the camera can easily compete with other 8 Megapixel prosumer cameras.
Nikon Coolpix 8800 - Vibration Reduction
The Coolpix 8800 is designed for the advanced photographer and delivers every tool necessary to make top quality images. The compact design is made for carrying the camera around, everywhere and always. The new function Vibration Reduction detects and corrects fully automatically small movements which could cause blurred pictures. Applying this function enables taking pictures holding the camera in your hand in stead of using the tripod which would have been the case before. Integrating this innovation makes the camera versatile applicable, and also more suitable to operate in poor light conditions.
Nikon Coolpix 8800 - Numerous settings
Besides the numerous settings the camera can also operate fully automatically. Of course the camera deserves more than that and will show to full advantage if all possibilities and functions are used to get the most out of the camera. The versatile vary-angle monitor on the back of the camera enables shooting from various corners and angles. Looking at the specifications, Nikon holds a versatile, very promising camera in his hands.
