Nikon D3000 Camera review | Conclusion
Nikon D3000 digital SLR camera
The Nikon D3000 lays out a smooth road for the novice photographer to make the step from a compact camera to a digital SLR camera. The Nikon D3000 is in that respect an ideal camera for the amateur, and because the learning curve is very low, all its technical ingenuity will be quickly accepted. Granted, there are differences compared to the higher segment, but whether or not the absence of those functions will actually be in the way of the Nikon D3000's success, will also be determined by the competition.

No video and Live View function on the Nikon D3000
There is actually not a lot you would eventually miss on this Nikon digital SLR, or it would have to be the video-recording function and related to it: Live View. Until recently, it was not an issue at all, however, it now seems that video function on a DSLR is becoming gradually more popular. Live View has enough advantages, in fact, to such an extent that it might be worth to seriously consider this function when thinking of purchasing a new camera. On the other hand, the price has a say in it too, especially given the current global economic situation, while the earlier mentioned functions would certainly push the price.

Nikon D3000 ultimate entry-level DSLR camera
So this leaves us with the Nikon D3000 as the ultimate entry-level camera, at least for Nikon. And we can say that, after a long period of field testing and the technical DIWA lab tests, we really liked the camera. In terms of user-friendliness, the Nikon D3000 reaches a high rating, and the integration of innovative imaging editing and processing technologies even increase the user's ease. The picture quality is excellent and frankly, we did not expect otherwise. With its broad experience and the success of its predecessors, the destination of the Nikon D3000 seems already determined.

Nikon D3000 review conclusion
In terms of settings, the Nikon D3000 provides plenty of application possibilities for the amateur or novice photographer. We can live with the lack of Live View, video and a tilting LCD monitor (D5000) since this does not have any effect on the image quality. If you have outgrown your compact camera and just want more image quality, and really want to delve into your creativity, the Nikon D3000 will be a great camera for you!
