Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR | Digital Camera Review | Storage and Energy
Fujifilm is slowly but surely finishing the xD Picture Card memory card. This type of card was introduced by Fujifilm and Olympus together, but never really took off. It is currently the storage medium with the least appealing specifications. In theory, the card may well be able to increase to 8GB, however, the reality is different. So far, 2GB is available as maximum storage capacity and there is no sign of trying to reach the maximum capacity. Fujifilm's choice of supporting SD and SDHC memory cards is therefore both understandable and logical. The market segment of the SD/SDHC card is large and chances are high that someone who switches to the F200EXR camera already has a whole collection of SD format cards in his possession.

Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR - SDHC memory
The 48MB internal memory of the Fujifilm F200eXR can be expanded by external memory such as xD and SD/SDHC memory cards. This provides more than enough memory capacity to both get and keep you going. The largest file is approximately 5MB; 2GB should be enough to store more than 400 pictures. And since prices have dropped significantly, we advise you to go for a 4GB SDHC memory card straight away.

Considering 2GB of storage capacity:

Fujifilm F200EXR - USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface
The side of the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR carries a USB 2.0 Hi Speed interface, which lets you quickly transfer a full memory card of 2GB to the desktop or notebook. Personally, I detest having to fiddle with cables and I prefer the optional card reader. Then it is just a matter of removing the card from the camera and transferring your files through the card reader. The advantage is the fact you can use the camera whilst transferring and it saves battery capacity. What's more convenient is that you don't have to go looking for that one cable you need…

Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR battery
According to CIPA (Camera & Imaging Product Association) measurements, the battery of the Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR camera lasts for approximately 230 pictures. However, bear in mind that the circumstances in which the measurements took place may differ a lot from those of the user. In particular the environmental temperature strongly influences the performance. We consider an average of 15% less energy. If you are not able to recharge the battery in time, for example during a holiday, you should take an extra battery along.
