Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 | Digital Camera Review | Storage and Energy
The Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 Megazoom camera is equipped with a Secure Digital / SDHC card slot. It won't surprise you that due to these high speed capacities, not only the storage capacity but also the speed of the memory card is important. The standard SD card is not going to be a good choice in this case. You should go for the SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) format, available in capacities up to 32GB. Also take into account the speed, such as the SanDisk Ducati SDHC card.

4GB SDHC memory card recommended
The Casio EXILIM Pro F1 delivers a resolution of 6 Megapixels, resulting in a file size of approximately 3.5MB in JPEG and around 13.3MB in RAW format. Although Full HD recording in the highest quality video for one minute will result in a file size of around 105MB. However, the maximum recording time is limited to 29 minutes (outside Europe unlimited), unfortunately, which will require a maximum of 4GB storage capacity for the entire 29 minutes. Since the memory market continues to increase the storage capacities and lower the prices, the consumer won't encounter any difficulties in finding a high storage capacity memory card.

Considering 4 GB of storage capacity:

SanDisk Ultra II Plus SD memory card
The SDHC memory card is breathing down the SD card's neck, nearly overtaking it. In fact, they are both of the same format, only technically upgraded which enabled passing the 2GB boundary. 4GB of storage capacity is the least, which prompts me to use the SDHC memory card as standard storage medium. Also with the Casio EXILIM Pro EX-F1 camera. If you don't need a capacity this high, you can use an SD card. A very handy type of SD card is the SanDisk Ultra II Plus SD memory card. It has the size of an SD card but comes with a unique feature; literally breaking the card in two, frees a USB interface. This enables inserting the card immediately into a free USB port and thus gain access to the stored pictures and videos.

USB 2.0 Hi Speed support
SD memory cards are available in several speeds. The advantage of a faster memory card is rapid data transfer, providing the computer and the device reading the card are equipped with a fast USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection. Or you can choose to purchase a card reader. This handy device needs to be connected to the USB port and is capable of reading a card and writing to it rapidly. The computer will recognize the device as an external hard drive. Additionally you will also save energy.

Casio battery charger

Casio NP-100 Lithium Ion battery
As expected the Casio EXILIM F1 uses an NP-100 Lithium battery. According to CIPA standards more than 500 pictures can be taken with a fully charged battery. This is measured in the most ideal circumstances with settings according to CIPA measurement. In practice, not one photographer will actually reach this, and we experienced that a number of over 400 pictures is more realistic. A pretty good amount, so a second battery is not really needed. Providing of course that you have the possibility to recharge the battery if necessary. When using the Casio F1 as a camcorder, it will last for 3 hours. Again, this is according to CIPA measurements.
