The long chewing gum stick looks like it's shortened to the Memory Stick Duo or Memory Stick PRO duo memory card with the entrance of the new generation of compact digital cameras from Sony. This new generation of memory cards and especially the PRO memory cards are prepared for the future. The speed of writing and reading data is a lot higher than we find with the previous generation of memory cards. The Memory Stick PRO Duo is the faster variant of the Memory Stick Duo memory card. This type of memory card has more storage capacity, a faster data transfer and the possibility to record real time high resolution photos or videos. The size of the Memory Stick PRO Duo is only a third of a standard Memory Stick memory card. The Memory Stick PRO Duo has a weight of appr. 2 grams (4 grams incl. the adapter) and is available with a storage capacity of 256 and 512MB. The DSC-T1 camera is standard delivered with the so-called Memory Stick adapter. Through this adapter the Memory Stick Duo memory cards can be used in devices featuring a Memory Stick memory slot. This pre-production model came with a 32MB Memory Stick Duo. Considering a 32MB storage capacity: Resolution 5M (2592x1944): 12 images – approximately 2.5 MB Resolution 3M (2048x1536): 20 images – approximately 1.5 MB Resolution 1M (1280x960) : 50 images – approximately 0.6 MB Resolution 640x480 (standard) video – approximately 01:27 minutes Resolution 160x112 (standard) video – approximately 22:42 minutes Considering a 256MB storage capacity: Resolution 5M (2592x1944): 92 images – approximately 2.5 MB Resolution 3M (2048x1536): 148 images – approximately 1.5 MB Resolution 1M (1280x960) : 357 images – approximately 0.6 MB Resolution 640x480 (Fine) video – approximately 02:57 minutes Resolution 640x480 (standard) video – approximately 10:42 minutes Resolution 160x112 (standard) video – approximately 02:51:42 hours The Sony DSC-T1 gets his energy from a newly designed Info Lithium battery, the NP-FT1. This 3.6V 2.4Wh battery is recharged through the camera. The A/C power is placed directly onto the camera or onto the docking station. As soon as the camera is placed in the docking station recharging will start. The recharging time takes approximately 150 minutes.
