Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 : According to a product announcement we saw on the website of an official Sony dealer in Luxembourg we may expect a new Sony Cybershot coming up; the Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 digital camera. Although the information is at this moment not official and may therefore be not final, the new Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 digital compact camera will replace the Sony Cybershot N1. The unofficial specifications of the Sony Cyber-shot N2 contains a CCD image sensor of 10.1 Megapixels, a 3-inch LCD color monitor, 3x Carl Zeiss optical zoom lens, 26MB internal memory and a high sensitivity setting of 1000 ISO. The consumer price of the Sony Cybershot N2 camera is unknown, date of availability would be somewhere in autumn 2006.

Sony Cybershot N2 - 10 Megapixel CCD
If the information on the Sonycenter.lu website is correct than the Sony Cybershot N2 will replace the Sony N1 camera. The Sony Cybershot N1 was also equipped with a 3-inch LCD monitor. Normally upgrade models will not decrease in quality, so we may expect the Sony Cybershot DSC-N2 to have the same 3-inch Clear Photo LCD Plus screen plus a handy touch-screen operation on board. That particular screen improves 65% NTSC colour ratio which leads to clearer and more vivid picture quality.
Sony N2 digital camera - Memory Stick PRO Duo
Although the information is not complete and at this moment not official we also may assume that the new Sony Cybershot N2 features a Memory Stick Duo slot. At one-third the size and half the weight of the standard-size Memory Stick cards, the Sony Memory Stick Duo, PRO Duo and PRO Duo High Speed currently represent the most versatile format in the Memory Stick range. All Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo media offer a minimum write speed of 15Mb/s, providing fast performance for activities such as video recording and multi-shooting, which use demanding digital imaging applications and require fast transfer of large files.
