CanonCanon PIXMA iP1700 : Need directions to a friend's house? How about printing out photos taken over the weekend? For whatever your need may be, Canon has the right solution with the introduction of a new single function model, the Canon PIXMA iP1700 Photo Printer. "From Grandma to the grand kids, the new Canon PIXMA iP1700 photo printer gives consumers with varying printing needs more choices, more features and a better value," said Yukiaki Hashimoto, senior vice president and general manager of the consumer imaging group at Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. "In addition to options, we wanted to offer all our customers a unique cutting edge design that is very much in line with today's tastes and styles."

Customers can easily print digital photos at home with the affordably priced Canon PIXMA iP1700 Photo Printer (estimated selling price $49.99), using the included Easy-PhotoPrint software. Plus, this 4-color product produces laser-sharp text for documents and colorful web pages. The pigment black ink will even resist smudging when highlighted. The Canon iP1700 printer produces a maximum 4800 x 1200 color dpi resolution for borderless printing in a variety of sizes including wallet, 4"x 6", 5"x 7", 8"x 10", and 8.5"x 11".

Canon PIXMA iP1700 photo printer - ChromaLife100
The new Canon PIXMA iP1700 Photo Printer uses Canon's ChromaLife100 system, including FINE print head technology for great photo printing. When using select genuine Canon photo papers and inks, prints can resist fading for up to 100 years when stored in an archival quality photo album. The 100-year-lifespan rivals that of many traditional film based photos, long considered by consumers to be the benchmark for image permanence. Prints produced on Canon Photo Paper Pro with ChromaLife100 inks have an up to ten-year gas fastness when exposed to open air. ChromaLife100 prints, when created using Canon Photo Paper Pro or Photo Paper Plus Glossy, have up to 30-year light fastness when displayed under glass.

Canon FINE Engineering
Launched globally by Canon in 1999, the Canon Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering (FINE) advanced print head technology is one of the keys to the impressive speed and high photo quality in PIXMA photo printers. FINE technology uses a ground-breaking high-performance, multi-nozzle print engine that ejects consistent and microscopic ink droplets. The results are high-resolution photos with great detail and clarity in less time.

Canon Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss paper
In addition to new hardware products, Canon introduces new papers to further expand creative options for users. Photo Paper Plus Semi-Gloss (SG-201) provides a warm luster or pearl finish that closely resembles a traditional retail print. This new paper style will be available in all of the most popular sizes:

• 4"x6" (50 sheets): estimated selling price $12.49
• 8"x10" (20 sheets): estimated selling price $12.99
• 8.5"x11" (20 sheets): estimated selling price $12.99
• 13"x19" (20 sheets): estimated selling price $42.99
