CasioCasio EX-S600D DivX Special Edition : DivX, Inc. today announced the DivX Certification of Casio EX-S600D, the first digital still camera from Casio to include DivX technology. The EX-S600D represents a breakthrough device by allowing Casio digital camera users to natively capture videos in the extremely popular DivX format. The Casio EX-S600D is a DivX Special Edition 6.0-megapixel Camera. Beginning in early July, it will be available online to consumers in France and Germany. The Casio EX-S600D will capture high-quality videos directly in the DivX format. DivX has become one of the most popular video technologies, by enabling the creation and distribution of high-quality video at a fraction of the size of other formats.

The EX-S600D digital camera allows consumers to easily access the valuable DivX ecosystem, an interconnected web of consumer electronics, software and content services that let users play, create and share high-quality video content across a range of devices and platforms. This includes DVD players, recorders and portable media players. Content created on the camera can be played on all PCs with DivX software installed and on over 1,500 models of DivX Certified consumer electronics devices from the world's leading brands.

DivX Certification of Casio EX-S600D
"We are very enthusiastic about this new digital camera featuring DivX's exceptional technology," said Susumu Takashima, a director at Casio and head of the Digital Camera Unit. "Casio digital cameras have won consistent praise from users for their slim size, large screens, and long battery life. With the release of this new model, which makes it easy to record DivX-format movies, we look forward to welcoming a new group of customers to the pleasure of using Casio cameras"

Casio S600D - High quality video in Divx format
"As Casio's first DivX Certified digital camera, the Casio EX-S600D expands the options for consumers to make their digital video content useful and compelling," said Bill Holmes, vice president of consumer electronics at DivX, Inc. "By creating high-quality video in the DivX format, users can easily share and distribute their personal content across a wide range of devices, an advantage that is not offered by other digital video technologies that are confined to the PC or one kind of portable device."

About DivX
DivX creates products and services designed to improve the experience of media. Our first product offering was a video compression-decompression software library, or codec, which has been actively sought out and downloaded over 180 million times in the last four years, including over 50 million times during the last twelve months. We have since built on the success of our codec with other consumer software, including the DivX Player application. We distribute this software from our website, DivX.com, which averaged over five million unique visitors per month during the first quarter of 2006. We also license our technologies to consumer hardware device manufacturers and certify their products to ensure the interoperable support of DivX-encoded content. Over 35 million DivX Certified hardware devices have been shipped worldwide, including approximately 8.5 million devices reported to us by our customers during the fourth quarter of 2005. In addition to technology licensing to consumer hardware device manufacturers, we currently generate revenue from software licensing, advertising and content distribution.
