HuaweiHuawei mobile payment service : Huawei Pay is already available in China for over a year now. It seems Huawei wants to extend its payment service to more countries in the (near) future. Two weeks ago, a trademark was filed in Europe. Now the company has filed for a trademark with the American USpto. The mobile payment service is similar to Apple Pay and Samsung Pay. Huawei Pay will be enabled by near-field communications (NFC) technology. When NFC is enabled users can connect their bank cards and transfer money by pressing two devices against each other. It's unclear whether Huawei already got approval from US banks and banking institutions.

Huawei Pay

The Huawei Pay trademark is filed on September 13, 2017. The application has been accepted by the office, but still needs to be assigned to an examining which may take up to 3 months.

The trademark is categorized as: 'Computer and mobile software for processing electronic payments and for transferring funds to and from others; authentication software for controlling access to and communications with computers and computer networks; magnetically encoded credit cards and payment cards'

Huawei is a big player in China and becomes more and more important on a global scale. Last month Huawei overtook the number two spot from Apple in the European smartphone market.
