GoProGoPro to launch Fusion 360 degree camera with WiFi : For over a year GoPro is teasing us with their new 360 camera. The company already released a video showing the capabilities of the 360 degree camera and started a pilot some months ago. But GoPro doesn´t want to reveal many details on its 5.2K spherical camera yet. However, last week most of the specs already appeared on the internet after the GoPro Fusion manual was leaked and got picked up by 360 Rumors. Now, the GoPro Fusion 360 degree camera also appears in the Radio Equipment List of Canada and the National Radio Research Agency in Korea. Both show us the model number SBDC1. In addition, the documents shows us the 360° camera with incorporate both WiFi and Bluetooth technology.

• The video uses a 16:9 aspect ratio.
• Photo resolution: 18 MP (approx. 6000 x 3000).
• The action camera can take RAW photos (DNG) and burst photos (up to 30fps).
• ISO photos: 100 to 800, ISO videos: 100 to 6400.

CES 2018 releases

GoPro Fusion 360 release date
The folks over at 360 Rumors believe the GoPro Fusion 360 camera will make its debut somewhere around March 2018. We on the other hand believe the camera will arrive sooner and will most likely be presented at CES 2018 (January). Why we think this?

Documents (internal and external photos as well as test setup photos) of the GoPro 360 camera are published on the website of the Federal Communications Commission, but remain confidential till 1/31/2018. It is unlikely these documents will become available in front of the launch date. Meaning the camera will be unveiled before end of January 2018.

Rumors suggest the camera will carry a retail price of $1,000. It seems a very steep price, compared to cameras like the Nikon KeyMission 360 and the recently launched Sony RX0. I guess we will just have to wait and see until GoPro finally releases its 360 camera.
