SamsungSamsung to launch new QLED TVs at IFA : Another first here at LetsGoDigital. Samsung will extend its QLED TV lineup with the 6-series. The European Union Intellectual Propery Office has taken another trademark application into consideration. The English company Withers & Rogers LLP, who also filed applications for Samsung QLED TVs in the past, has applied for the names Q6C and Q6F. Meaning Samsung will soon launch both a curved and a flat 6-series QLED TV. Beginning of this year Samsung introduced its first QLED TVs in the Q7, Q8 and Q9 series at the CES in Las Vegas. Now the less expensive 6-series will be presented. Samsung has organized a press conference later today in Berlin, at IFA 2017.
Samsung Q6 QLED Smart TV

Samsung Q6 QLED smart TVs
Last year Samsung announced to stop the production of OLED TVs. As a replacement, Samsung launched the QLED TV line-up beginning of this year. QLED smart TVs are advanced LED TVs, based on quantum dot technology.

QLED offers various advantages, it offers improved brightness, a better color reproduction and a great design. Also in terms of display sizes QLED is less limited than OLED. Samsung is currently the only manufacturer producing QLED TVs. The line-up consists of 5 models with two curved models and three flat panel TV designs, available in multiple screen sizes.

Samsung QLED Q6C and Q6F series at IFA 2017
The Samsung Q6C will be the curved model, the Samsung Q6F is the flat panel display. At this moment it is unclear what screen size the new smart TVs will get. The QLED 7-series consists of a 65-inch curved display and a 75-inch flat panel.

I have to keep it short, as I´m in the back of the car, driving to the IFA 2017 press conference of Panasonic. Stay tuned for more news coming up!

Update: The Samsung Q6 series have not been introduced at IFA 2017. We will have to wait a bit longer before the cheaper QLED models arrive....
