IFAIFA 2017 speaker Terry Gou cancels keynote session : Terry Gou, founder and chief CEO at Foxconn, postponed its Keynote speech at IFA 2017. The Taiwanese tycoon planned a keynote for Europe's consumers electronics trade fair but now cancels the meeting at the last moment. Terry Gou declared: "“We are currently focusing on a global investment project that fully occupies the company’s strategic management resources. In light of this, we have decided that 2018 will be the ideal time for the previously announced IFA keynote.” It is unclear what global investment project Mr. Gou is talking about. Last month the American president Donald Trump announced having signed an agreement with Foxconn to build a gigantic plant (costs $10 billion) in Wisconsin, USA.

IFA director Jens Heithecker responded: "We would have been very happy to present Foxconn on the Keynote stage this year, especially with the growing importance of global supply chains in the digital electronics industry. However, we fully understand the situation and are already looking forward to IFA 2018."

Foxconn is one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronic and computer accessories. The Taiwanese company is closely linked to Apple, as the manufacturer assembled more than a billion iPhone smartphones over the past 10 years. Besides being a supplier for Apple products, Foxconn also partners with internationally orientated companies like Nokia, Intel, Asus, Kingston and Dell.
