Robocar world’s first driverless electric racing car
Driverless Electric Racing Car Makes debut in New York City : Roborace, the global championship of intelligence and technology, is hosting a special showcase of Robocar, the world’s first driverless electric racing car, in Times Square in New York City today. The exhibition, located on Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets, kicks off Roborace’s weekend at the inaugural FIA Formula E Qualcomm New York City ePrix Championship in Brooklyn where the company will be performing demonstrations of autonomous vehicle technology using their development prototype car, DevBot. Roborace believes that the future of transport is electric, connected and driverless and aims to accelerate the development of these technologies to bring them to our roads faster.

Designed by Roborace’s Chief Design Officer Daniel Simon, the renowned automotive futurist and concept designer best known for his work on popular Sci-Fi films Tron: Legacy and Oblivion, Robocar is powered by Nvidia’s Drive PX2 AI car computing platform and uses a number of technologies to drive itself, including LIDARs, Radars, AI cameras, ultrasonic sensors, optical speed sensors, GNSS positioning and more.

World’s first driverless electric racing series
It is the world’s first driverless electric racing series and provides an open AI platform for teams to develop their own driverless software and push the limits in an extreme and safe environment. The electric racing series will highlight the enormous potential of these technologies to transform cities on every level reducing traffic, accidents, pollution and more, as well as making the general public feel more comfortable with the idea of having these technologies on the roads
