VarjoNew Virtual Headset from startup Varjo : Varjo Technologies is an interesting new startup company from Helsinki, Finland. Former employees of Nokia and Microsoft have bound their strengths together and believe they have developed the best virtual headset on the market today. Till today the resolution of VR is by far not good enough to fool our eyes. The newly developed Varjo 20/20 headset offers a 70 megapixel resolutions per eye. Unbelievable when you compare this to the 1.2 megapixels (per eye) Oculus Rift and HTC Vive VR headsets. Varjo has demonstrated the 20|20 VR technology to journalists. Although not yet showcased, the company claims to have a prototype too, ready to launch for professional users in late Q4, 2017.

The new Varjo VR headset offers resolutions more than 70x beyond any currently shipping or announced head-mounted display (including Magic Leap).

Designed for professional users and applications, this major technology advancement enables unprecedented levels of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality (VR/AR/MR) realism.

This is accomplished by Varjo’s patented technology that replicates how the human eye naturally works, creating a super-high-resolution image to the users gaze direction. This is further combined with video-see-through (VST) technology for unparalleled AR/MR capabilities.

This marks the beginning of the era of completely immersive computing. And it’s how Varjo is redefining the human capabilities to create, work, learn and play.

Future of VR / AR
According to the CEO and co-founder of Varjo, Urho Konttori, “Varjo’s patented display innovation pushes VR technology 10 years ahead of the current stateof-the-art, where people can experience unprecedented resolution of VR and AR content limited only by the perception of the human eye itself."

"This technology, along with Varjo VST, jump-starts the immersive computing age overnight - VR is no longer a curiosity, but now can be a professional tool for all industries."
