SamsungSamsung defines QLED marketing strategy in China : Samsung Electronics and other global TV manufacturers, distributors and academic institutions formed an new alliance to work together to boost the QLED TV market in China. The China Electronics Chamber of Commerce, the country’s regulatory and legislative institution for the electronics industry, hosted the companies and organizations at the first QLED International Forum, held in Beijing on April 13, 2017. China with its huge population and upcoming commercial growth is the world's largest Smart TV market. Held under the theme 'QLED Light Brightens the World', the international QLED forum welcomed around 300 guests to the Beijing Yanqi Lake International Convention & Exhibition Center.

Joining the attending government agencies were international TV manufacturers including Samsung, Hisense and TCL; representatives of Peking and Tsinghua universities; GOME Electrical Appliances and Suning Commerce Group, China’s top two TV distributors; and JD.com, one of the country’s major online consumer electronics stores in China.

In his opening address, Vice Chairman Liu Yufeng from the China Chamber of Commerce outlined QLED TVs’ potential to transform the Smart TV industry. He predicts that global sales of QLED TVs will increase from 3 million to 6 million units in 2017. Quantum dot technology will be the major trend of the global Smart TV industry.

QLED international forum

Market research firm Display-Search has estimated that global sales of Quantum dot Smart TV's will exceed 18 million units in 2018. The goal of the QLED International Forum is to accelerate the market’s trend toward global acceptation of QLED TV.

After the attending distributors shared their strategies for vitalizing QLED TV sales, Samsung and other TV manufacturers signed several business contracts with distributors with the goal to boost the QLED TV market.
