IHS MarkitApple iPhone topped list of best-selling phones in 2016 : According to Jusy Hong, analyst for mobile devices & mobile media at IHS Markit, the iPhone 6s from Apple is the best-selling phone in 2016 in terms of shipments. When looking at Q4/2016, the Apple iPhone 7 was the 2016 best-seller, followed by iPhone 7 Plus, based on research from the IHS Markit smart phone Shipment Database, which tracks quarterly data for more than 350 smart phone models. The Santa Carla based-company has shown to the industry that its iPhone 2016 models integrate enough innovations and new features to drive sales and remain successful in the mobile market. Apple is also capable of selling older smart phones for an extended period of time. For instance, the year-old iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were both among the most-shipped smart phone models in 2016.
