HonorHuawei Honor 8 Pro the European version of the Honor V9 : In exactly two weeks, Huawei's subsidiary Honor will introduce at least one new smartphone. The press invitations have already been send out and the manufacturer already spread several online teasers. Reportedly, the company will reveal the European version of the Honor V9, this phone was announced in late February in China. In Europe the 2017 top model will be named Honor 8 Pro, the premium smartphone features a 5.7-inch LCD display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The Honor 8 Pro is powered by a 1.8Ghz octa-core Kirin 960 processor with 6GB of RAM. The device runs on the latest Google operating system, Android 7 Nougat combined with the Huawei EMUI 5.0 user interface.

Huawei phones are known for their great camera specs, like the high-end models, the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus which are both equipped with a dual camera and a high-quality Leica lens. The Huawei Honor 8 Pro will also feature a 12 megapixel dual camera, unfortunately, the Leica lens is omitted. But that's understandable, as the Huawei Honor smartphone will be a lot cheaper than the P10 Series. The new Honor 8 Pro comes with 64GB of internal memory, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. The phone is equipped with a powerful 4000 mAh battery and will be available in several colors; black, gold and blue.

On April 5 2017, Huawei Honor will most likely officially introduce this smartphone for Europe. In China the Honor V9 is sold at a price of CNY 2,999, which is just over €400. We expect the recommended retail price in Europe to be set at €450, as the Honor 8 currently sells at €400. Moreover, there is another smartphone candidate for Europe. Its little brother, the Huawei Honor 8 Lite could well come to Europe too, this Honor phone has already been seen in Finland. And then we have the Honor Magic, which was launched in China late last year, a high-end smartphone with a 5.1-inch qHD display, would it be possible for Huawei Honor to bring this model to Europe too? Plenty to look forward to, the Honor event will be streamed live.
