Google smart jacket in collaboration with Levi's : Over the years Google has proven being able to implement its popular Android operating system in a wide range of products, from phones to watches and TVs to cars. Google now found a new partner in Levi's, the two progressive companies have set up Project Jacquard and are developing a smart jacket. With this connected smart denim jacket users can perform tasks by simply tapping on the left sleeve, at your wrist. To get an idea of how the Google smart jacket works in practice, a demonstration video has been published at the SXSW festival in Austin.
How does Google smart jacket work
Thanks to the collaboration with Levi's the smart jacket gets a stylish design. In the clothing conductive fibers are woven, so that each movement can be detected. The left sleeve acts as a display, by touching it the signals are transmitted using a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. This way you can start a phone conversation of flush a song. The smart jacket comes with a USB connection, to charge the denim jacket. And you do not even have to worry about cleaning the Google smart jacket either, you can just put the denim jacket in the washing machine. Google Levi's smart jacket will be available in fall 2017 and carries a suggested retail price of $350.
